WHY ME?

When I first took an interest in becoming a Realtor it became very obvious that there were definite qualities required to be successful and provide the best service to my clients. Here’s a look at a few!

1. Problem Solver Mindset

A career in law focusing on contract negotiations has served me well for this one. But even more-so than my professional skills, I’m a single working mother of 3 active boys! For all of you out there that can relate, you know there is no better training in problem solving than organizing and negotiating between three children. Balancing work, parenting, coaching soccer and having all my sons in sports arguably may make me the poster child for a Problem Solver Mindset. I really believe there’s a solution to every problem and a way around any detour, and I find it.

3. Honesty and Integrity

You have to trust your Realtor. They become your friend. I like to say I’m more of a matchmaker than a salesperson. I introduce people to homes until they fall in love with “the one”. Then I’m a wedding planner. I truly want to facilitate people getting the best home for them. This is what it’s all about. I practice honesty and integrity in all aspect of my life at all times.

4. Attention to Detail

Contracts, contracts, contracts. Most times buying the house is the easy part. A lot of people can get overwhelmed with the paperwork, red tape and closing costs involved in purchasing a home. It’s scary. Having a law background made deciding to be a Realtor easy for me in regards to this category. My law career was all about deciphering contracts, communicating with my clients so they always understood everything and making sure that all their i’s were dotted and t’s were crossed. Understanding your contract whether you are a buyer or seller is very important to providing a stress free process and knowing how to negotiate to make sure you get everything you need and there are no surprises.

5. Understanding the Local Housing Market

I’ve lived my whole life in Victoria, BC. I went to high school here. I know the neighbourhoods, where the schools are, the best after work tapas bar, and a lot of history of the city and it’s houses. I can tell you exactly where to live based on your needs. This is my hometown and I love living here. As a Realtor, my job is to know this market, so of course I do, but more than that, I know this city. Where’s the nearest coffee shop, grocery store, park, beach? You name it. I love taking my clients house hunting. Your Realtor should be your concierge. Go on a house hunt with me, ask me questions, explore your options, this is the part I absolutely love; well besides finding someone that perfect home. I’m not opposed to house hunting via bicycle or motorcycle too. Let’s tour the city while we’re at it!
